The beginning of the New Year is always a time of reflection and of optimism. This is why so many of us make New Year’s resolutions ever year. However, according to many online surveys, nearly 80% of us who make New Year’s resolutions can’t even carry out on our promises until the end of January (No surprise there).

Up until last year, I have always been a skinny guy. However, for some reason or another (also called a lack of exercise and bad dieting), I gained about 15 pounds over the course of 2008. Now suddenly, I am one of the millions of Americans whose 2009 resolution is to lose about 10 pounds! However, unlike many of you, I am determined to get in a much better shape than I am in now.

For starters, I am not going on a “Diet”. Dieting is often about being in control, or being controlled (and sometimes about both at the same time). People talk about the increasing complexity of modern life. Dieting is the complete antithesis of that. It is all about your brain or an external authority figure dictating what and when you will eat. Dieting is a multi-billion dollar business. Even most obesity researchers are funded by the diet industry. Having said this, “dieting” is at an all-time low. Based on my unscientific internet research, although many of us desire to lose weight, only 26% of women and 16% of men who say they need to lose weight actually take action to better themselves. Why? Because Dieting is frustrating: one minute you’re told that certain foods are bad for you, the next minute the media is hyping the benefits of those same foods (Before you begin your diet make sure you do your research).

Over the course of the next couple of weeks, I will share my adventure trying to get back my “six pack”. What are you doing to regain that sexy body of yours? As with all things, open discussion is greatly encouraged (and very therapeutic!)

Peace.

I usually wear the same scent for day, evening, week and weekend. I’m beginning to step out and have different scents for different occasions. Chanel No. 5 Perfume for Women Eau De Toilette Spray 3.4 Oz TESTER by Chanel is a nice scent for evening wear. It’s been around for years; since 1921 so a sure winner.
Angel Perfume for Women Eau De Parfum Refill Splash 3.4 Oz by Thierry Mugler is recommended for daytime wear. This fragrance for women contains a blend of vanilla, sandalwood, patchouli, fresh citrus, melons, peaches and plums. It has mixed reviews, but remember everyone has different taste and it’s not about what others like, but what you like. Try something new.

Not only can you smell good, but you can look good too. Great shades, great hair products. Check it out. Thankfully, you can save up to 90% on designer perfumes at BigDiscountFragrances.com. Just CLICK HERE! Here’s just a preview of other items you may like to check out:

You all know this site talks about fashion and style. Well let’s just say I’ve seen some weird fashion within the last couple of days. I know while out hustling and bustling this Christmas season everyone wants to be comfortable. That means no P.J.’s or at least it looks like they are p.j’s. That is not very becoming. Another thing I’ve seen is rainbow of colors, no Punky Brewster going on. Although I am about individuality, but you must wear it with pride and confidence not just wearing because you crawled out of the bed with it on and your comfortable.

It only takes a few extra minutes to pick something out that matches. There is nothing wrong with grabbing sweat pants and shirts, but make sure they are yours and not your husband’s, father’s nor your kids. No need to melt and pour yourself into something that is too small. Take the time to try on clothes at the store, take someone with you so they can tell you how you truely look from all angels. Do Not take that friend that agrees with everything you say, you need honesty. Step outside of your comfort zone a bit and try colors and styles you don’t have in your closets. Many of you are beginning to think of your New Year’s resolutions and let style and fashion be one of them. The entire year of 09 I will be posting great fashion deals I find to include links and coupons. You know my motto, never pay full price for anything again. I will be writing again after Christmas so have a very Merry Christmas!!!!!!!
